The process of capturing, recording and reconstructing moving pictures usually on celluloid film, electronic signals or digital media by means of technology is commonly termed as video recording. Both audio and visuals of events can be recorded in videos which can then either be projected on screens (as in movies or documentary films) or directly transmitted via satellites for live telecast on television channels
Therefore, for viewing recorded or live transmission of videos usually devices like televisions and computer monitors are used. In order to achieve high quality visuals within a limited bandwidth videos are often interlaced. The process of interlacing can be simple defined as consecutively numbering and partitioning the horizontal scan lines into two fields-even and odd. While the even field consists of the even numbered lines, the odd field comprises of the odd-numbered lines. While for digital videos, the sizes of the video images are usually measured in pixels, for analog videos they are measured by the horizontal scan lines. From simple recording of memorable family events, programming simple video games and recording films or music videos to the conduction of videoconferences in more recent times, video equipments are used today in a large range of applications.
