Hitch is the 2005 blockbuster movie that proved to be one of the most commercially successful in that year. Starring Will Smith and Eva Mendes the movie could generate enough publicity for it self that audiences went to watch it in great numbers which made it the highest ever grosser in the romantic comedy genre.
Hitch is about the fast talking and smart date doctor Alex Hitchens or in short “Hitch”. He is the proverbial love doctor whose profession is to take care of his client’s love problems and get them hitched to the woman of their dreams without any glitches. Unfortunately enough when Hitch himself falls for the confident and sharp gossip writer Sara played by Eva Mendes he finds to his horror that none of his tried and tested techniques are working for him. A number of hilarious situations follow that keep the audience entertained with Will Smith’s characteristic performance that only he is capable of .In the mean while Hitch is also catering to one of his clients Albert Brennaman a fat but cute guy played by Kevin James who is in love with the beautiful Allegra Cole played by Amber Velleta. This seems to be a challenge for Hitch since the match is highly unlikely and therefore Hitch takes up the case with full vigor.
He coaches Albert at every step of his relationship with Allegra and their affair develops amicably. Sara on the other hand is trying to bring out the truth regarding Hitch after one of his clients ditched one of her friends. As the truth is revealed Hitch and Sara break up and so do Allegra and Albert realizing that their relationship is not strong enough. It is finally Hitch who realizes that there are no rules in the game of love. His clients are successful not because he has coached them but because they are capable enough themselves. Hitch goes and convinces Allegra about Albert’s love for her which is for real and not based on any tips. Hitch also goes out of his way to convince the girl he loves that he is faithful enough and the movie ends with the lovers being reconciled and Albert and Allegra’s wedding. Rumor has it that Eva Mendes was chosen for the role because of her origin since the makers where not sure what sort of a reaction Will’s paring with a white woman will invoke. Indian actress and supermodel Aishwarya Rai famed to be the most beautiful woman on the planet was to make an appearance in the movie playing the role of Cressida which later went to the star Robinne Lee .It was because of schedule problems that Aishwarya could not give her dates for the movie. Madagascar
Madagascar is a comedy film, which was released in 2005. Dream Works Animation was the producer of the film. It is a computer-animated film, based on the story of four animals that were captives of the Central Park Zoo and were supposed to be deported to Africa. In the mean time, they are shipwrecked on the Madagascar Island
The film Madagascar brings into surface the four endearing animal characters Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the Hippo. All these four characters are inhabitants of the Central Park Zoo in New York City and here they live a leisurely life. Gloria the hippopotamus thinks that she is very beautiful and acts as a mediator in the film whereas Alex is the innocent lion who does not know about the predatory nature of life in the wild and considers Marty and Melman as his friends. Melman the giraffe thinks himself to be worldly wise as he arrives in the zoo at a later stage. Their luxurious life came to an end when Marty plans to escape from the zoo, in order to have a taste of the wild life. Their temporary attempt to escape from the zoo compels the zoo officials to take a serious decision and they embark on a plan to shift the captive zoo animals to Kenya. But the four protagonists of the movie are marooned in an island in Madagascar where they face weird experiences.
A good many celebrities have lent their voices in Madagascar. Ben Stiller voices the lead role of Alex, while Chris Rock voices for Marty, Jada Pinkett Smith for Gloria and David Schwimmer for Melman. Madagascar has been very popular with the kids and adults too have a liking for the film. It has been dubbed in several languages such as in French, German, Italian and Japanese. In the film Madagascar, various American Movies such as “American Beauty“, “Born Free”, “Cast Away“, “The Great Escape “, “The Lion King“, “Planet of the Apes“, “The Silence of the Lambs“ have been mentioned as references. The four animal characters also refer to Animal Planet and National Geographic channels and sings lines from popular pop songs. Waterworld is a sci-fi movie released in the year 1995 and Kevin Costner was the co-producer of the film. Kevin Reynolds directed the film. Kevin Costner plays the lead role as a drifter who sails on the boat alone and has some weird features on his body that includes a pair of gills and webbed feet. The smokers are simply pirates and the slavers are never shown in the movie, but are only mentioned. The Atoll dwellers live in floating constructs that are named Atolls. In Waterworld, Jeanne Tripplehorn plays the role of Helen and Tina Majorino is cast in the role of Enola. Enola is the little girl who has a tattoo on her back. The tattoo bears the map of the Dryland, which is being searched by the people of the water world. Though Waterworld was nominated at the Oscars for Best Sound; the film won the ASCAP Award for Top Box Office Films. At the same time, it has won the Razzie Award for Worst Supporting Actor and Kevin Costner won the Razzie Award in the Worst Actor category. Waterworld’s director Kevin Reynolds too was nominated as the Worst Director in the Razzie Award. The film had a disastrous impact on the audiences and it has been frequently referred as “Mad Max on Jet skis”. The film was a huge flop from a commercial point of view.

The film has certain controversial scenes that generated frenzy among the audiences. One such scene was the portrayal of Kevin Costner, drinking filtered urine because of scarcity of water. In Waterworld, Kevin Costner is shown as a person devoid of any human passion. This is mainly because the character underwent some genetic mutations. But, ironically, he gets back those lost passions once he comes close to Helen and Enola. Though director Kevin Reynolds had the courage of creating something new by discarding the hackneyed plots, the American audience put thumbs down to his efforts.
