The story is termed to be representation of a 1927 crime. The incident involved a married lady and her boyfriend. The lover named as Judd Gray was insisted by the married women Ruth (Brown) Snyder to murder Albert her husband. The murder was chiefly meant to attain the insurance policy of her husband.
