Notes From The Underbelly American Sitcom

Notes from the Underbelly is an US sitcom which was first aired on ABC, on April 12, 2007 as a midsummer replacement. Actually, it was scheduled to be telecast on October 5, 2006, along with 'Big Day'. But ABC made a sudden change by slotting 'Ugly Betty' to Thursday , thus replacing the two. 'Notes from the Underbelly' came up with its second season on November 26, 2007 in a completely timing of 9:30/8:30c on Mondays.

Notes from the Underbelly has been co-produced by some of the big names. Stacy Traub( of 'Spin City', 'Kitchen Confidential' fame), Kim and Eric Tannenbaum (of '2+1/2 Men' fame) and Barry Sonnenfield( of 'Pushing Daisies' fame) bring before the audience a circle of friends in their early 30s, who experience how pregnancy could change the lives of not a single person but of all friends.

Note from the Underbelly has been created by Stacy Traub. The sitcom is based on Risa Green's novel of the same name. And the series is presented by the Tantamount and Hill Three Production in association with Warner Bros. Telivision. The sitcom has Andrew (Peter Cambor) and Luraen( Jennifer Westfeldt) as the main protagonists. Now when they plan to start a family, they go to their cronies for advice since both have opposite take on it. While Andrew observes the stages of pregnancy with patience and excitement, Lauren is nonchalant in quitting their pre-baby happy-go-lucky life.

Note from the Underbelly then introduces the other friends. Julie( Melanie Paxson) and Eric ( Sunkrish Bala) are the loving and spirited parents which Andrew and Lauren never aim to be. Lauren's best friend, Cooper( Rachel Harris), is a flirty, relationship-skipping divorce attorney who does not want Lauren to be tagged as 'mommy cult'. And Andrew's friend Danny( Michael Weaver), a couch potato, is no way near settling down. The question remains whether Lauren and Andrew can strike a balance between the freedom of their old life with the onus of the new.

Note from the Underbelly has some brilliant actors with immense potentials. Jennifer Wesfeldt( Lauren) has come to the limelight by co-producing, co-writing, and portaying the title role in the indie hit( 2002), 'Kissing Jessica Stein'. It got the Audience Award for Best Feature at the Los Angeles International Film Festival and several other accolades. Peter Cambor( Andrew) makes his acting debut with this sitcom.
