To Kill a Mockingbird was filmed by director Robert Mulligan with a screenplay by Horton Foote in 1962. The story revolves round Scout Finch and her family and friends. Scout Finch lives with her brother, Jem, and her father, Atticus, who is a middle-aged lawyer, in Maycomb county of Alabama. One summer, a boy named Charles Baker Harris (Dill) living in their neighborhood for the summer becomes friends of these brother and sister. Dill got attracted toward the weird Radley House, earlier owned by Mr. Radley. Radley had two sons, Nathan and Arthur. Nathan takes the charge of the household after Mr. Radley's death. The weirdest thing about Arthur is that he has lived there for years without getting outside of the house in daylight. There are rumors about the boy that he had once stabbed in the leg of his father out of impulse and he gets out of the house at night to eat squirrels and lurks outside people’s house.

Scout goes to school and describes her days at schools and her friends. On his last day, Dill and her friends go to the Radley and are shot at by Nathan and Jem has his trousers in trouble. When he returned to find them, the trousers are found mended and kept on the fence. In the winter, Scout and Jem are given gifts by Arthur but Nathan stopped all the ways of communication among these three. But the brother and sisters are too young to understand all these. During the trial of a case, these brother and sisters duo are seated in the colored bench. When the verdict is out, Jem’s belief in the law is shaken. After the verdict is out, Bob Ewell menaces Tom Robinson's widow. She attacks Jem and Scout when they are coming from school. Arthur saves the child and while they are struggling Bob was stabbed to death and Jem breaks his arms. But sheriff saves the situation and insists that he tripped on a root and fell on his knife. Scout now understands what her father wants her to do when he tells them to see the life from other’s perspective. Now she feels sorry for Arthur. She tells her father that Arthur turns out to be a nice person and her father says "Most people are, Scout, when you finally see them." Wikipedia
