Con Air

Con Air is an action movie that was part of the trilogy that were made featuring Nicholas Cage as the protagonist of the film. The other two movies were The Rock and the Face/Off . Produced by the famous Jerry Bruckheimer with a whooping $ 75,000,000 US the film was a great commercial success being nominated for two academy awards.

The film starts with the United States Army Ranger, Cameron Poe coming back home to his pregnant wife. After completing his service at operation Desert Storm he wants to lead a peaceful life at home. There are certain unforeseen events that take place in his life and he kills a man in a fight. He is charged with manslaughter and sentenced to seven years of imprisonment. Cameron is taken into prison even before his daughter is born . In the prison he spends his life with the other inmates of the prison who have come from different strata’s of society and are guilty of varied crimes ranging from petty crimes to serious ones. After seven years he is finally released on parole and is being transferred from prison to his home at Alabama. This transfer will be done along with others who are also being moved to a Supermax prison that has been constructed in his hometown. US Marshal Vince Larkin is brought in so that they are able to complete the operation in a smooth manner.
However this not be since some of the members who were inmates at the prison have ganged up to hijack the plane and run. Heading this team is “The Virus “ paid by John Malkovich who has been paid by the drug lord Francisco Cindino. According to trivia Jerry Bruckheimer decided to cut the last scene of the present movie featuring the garland green scene at the tables of Las Vegas. He wanted to give the film an alternative ending to the movie with a sentimental family reunion. However some of the early screenings proved that the scene was best kept unaltered. According to a website the plane crash scene of the movie Con Air was one of the highest rated as the most horrific of plane crashes in movie history. Cameron Poe’s character is not the traditional hero figure in the movie. He portrays traces of good characteristics as well as anger. He is seen as being thrown into a situation where he would have to take up the reigns himself in order to save himself as well as the people who mater to him . For instance Baby-O his fellow inmate with him he has connected in his prison term. The title of the film was taken from the Justice Prisoner and Alien Transportation System.Wikipedia
