Catch Me If You Can is a masterpiece from the master himself Steven Spielberg the film stars the best from the Hollywood celebrated actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks in the lead. The movie based on a novel penned down by Frank Abagnale Jr , Stan Redding and Jeff Nathanson. The 2002 motion picture perhaps one of the most off beat ventures by the director. A marvelous creation the movie turned to be major commercial success proving the acting skills of both the lead actors.

The movie is based on the life of a con artist Frank William Abagnale, Jr who had acquired almost $4 million through his several fraud means. Establishing himself as a famous con man he carried on with his crooked means for almost six years before finally giving in. The film starts off with his the FBI agent Carl Hanratty meeting Frank in a prison in France. The movie goes into a flash back stating Frank’s position six years back. He is shown attending an award ceremony along with his parents meant for his dad. The very next day Frank disguises as his father’s driver and tries to secure a loan from the Chase Manhattan Bank but fails in the effort. As he fails to fit into in his new school Frank finds out several new ways of running away from his curriculum disguising as the French teacher. Seeing the present condition of her parent’s married life, which seemed to go into pieces Frank runs away from her home.
In his pursuit of finding a different means of living he runs short of monetary help as all the checks taken from father exhausts. He then tries his hand at several con tricks to earn a living but fails at initial levels. He gets his first success disguising himself as a pilot in an attempt of securing information from an airline pilot. He then forges the Pan Am payroll checks and attains success in obtaining almost over 1.3 million dollars. On the other side of the story Carl Hanratty is all set to catch Frank with not help from her superiors. In a famous sequence Carl is seen seeking information in a hotel when he finds out that Frank is in the same hotel and goes into his room. As he was not aware of how Frank looks so Carl is in turn fooled as Frank names himself as Barry Allen a Secret Agent. Further more Frank is later shown apologizing to Carl for fooling him over the phone with Carl refusing to accept that. Frank then goes on to disguise himself as doctor and a lawyer. Amidst all this he falls in love with a nurse Brenda. He discloses all his secrets to her and asks her to run away with him. Yet at the very particular day Frank finds Brenda surrounded by agents who plan to catch him. he them runs away to France yet gets caught by Carl. As he hears of his father’s death and finds his mother with her boyfriend Frank break away and surrenders to Carl. Later he is shown to help Carl in his investigation trying to track down frauds. With Leonardo DiCaprio as Frank William Abagnale Jr and Tom Hanks as Carl Hanratty the movie is must see material. Wikipedia
