Gone With The Wind a 1939 classic film and a winner of ten Academy awards is based on a novel written by Margaret Mitchell. A massive hit of all times, Gone with the Wind broke all records being the highest grosser and being one of the most significant Hollywood classics. The movie is even termed to be one of the highest ticket sellers till date With excellent performances from all the characters the film is worth watching.
The movie based on a novel, relates the story of Scarlet O Hara and the different incidents of her life. The movie goes through several phases depicting the life of this otherwise selfish woman who longs to marry Ashley. Ashley instead is all set to marry her cousin Melanie. The opening scene of the film shows the family engaged in a party. Scarlett is shown expressing her love to Ashley which is over heard by Rhett Butler. Amidst all this the country jumps into the civil war. The movie is set in the backdrop as America goes through one of its most devastating wars, Scarlett is seen suffering through the starvation days as the country loses in the war. On the other side she even loses out on Ashley and in turn is loved by Rhett Butler, a man not much liked by her family.
A woman from a rich feudalistic family is thrown in an entirely terrible condition as all her family members meet death leaving only her, their maid and her pregnant sister. As the movie advances Scarlett is seen going through almost three marriages. The movie displays the love story of Scarlett and Rhett Butler, which takes place during the tensed atmosphere of the American civil war. Scarlett is at times thrown into extreme poverty and at times shown to be a owner of huge mansion. Amidst all this she gets married to Rhett. Her marriage to Rhett lets her give birth to their daughter who later dies in an accident. While Rhett misbehaves with her many times due to her long lasting feelings for Ashley he in turns is shown showering his love and supporting her at the time of need. After they lose out on their daughter the couple is separated and Rhett leaves her. As she sits down and weeps thinking of what to do now she suddenly remembers her fathers and Ashley’s words.
