Something s Gotta Give

“Something's Gotta Give” is a Hollywood movie released in 2003 and should not be confused with the 1962 film of a similar title. The leading characters of the movie were Harry Sanborn which was played by Jack Nicholson an older, a successful businessman and owner of the second largest hip-hop label in the world, Julian Mercer a role portrayed by Keanu Reeves of a young medical doctor, Marin Barry played by Amanda Peet, a beautiful young auctioneer for Christie's and Erica Barry played by Diane Keaton, Marin's mother and a successful playwright

The movie “Something s Gotta Give” received three awards namely the Golden Globes: Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy to Diane Keaton, the National Board of Review:
Best Actress (Diane Keaton) and the Satellite Awards: Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical to Diane Keaton. The plot of the film is very interesting. The story unfolds the character of a sixty-three year old man Harry, who has like for girls who much young to him. Marin is his latest crush but things become a little awkward after Harry suffers a heart attack at the home of Marin's mother Erica (Keaton). Left in the care of Erica and his doctor (Reeves), a love triangle starts to take shape. As Harry and Erica are left alone they grudgingly get to know each other and something starts to stir. On the other hand the hospital doctor who treated him has started liking Erica, therefore Harry now has to face some serious competition.

Something s Gotta Give is a big budget movie with lavish settings as compared to other romantic comedies. The director of the film Nancy Meyers, who has already directed movies based on semi-autobiographical issues, gives the audience to enjoy a film that come across as an above-average intelligence and an essentially a fantasy assertion movie. As long as old pals Nicholson and Keaton are on screen discussing their dilemma over discovering their common desire, Something's Gotta Give is marvelous, proving that Hollywood can and should aim for an older demographic. But “Something s Gotta Give” in the view of film critics falls short with the concept of a younger lover (Keanu Reeves) who wishes to date Keaton as much as Nicholson does; it's believable but shallow and can be easily dismissed. The movie also has a guest starring list that reveals names like Frances McDormand, Amanda Peet, and Jon Favreau. To make the movie a prized memory in the hearts of the audiences, the producers of “Something s Gotta Give”, has also introduced its DVD version. It contains of two parts, in first we find that the writer- director Nancy Meyers, makes a more traditional yet informative knowledge about her various aspects of the production. The second half consists of exclusive interviews taken by the director of her star cast.Wikipedia
