Blade Runner is an influential science fiction film that was released in 1982. Famous Academy Award winning English film director Sir Ridley Scott directed the film, while Hampton Fancher and David Peoples wrote the screenplay of the film. The film was adapted from the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep written by Phillip K. Dick.

After the replicants are declared illegal on earth some specialist units of the police were trained to search for and kill the Replicants. These police forces are named Blade Runner in the film. The film deals with a cunning and brutal replicant group that took shelter in Los Angeles. A semi retired Blade Runner Rick Deckard is set on the trail to hunt down these replicants. The famous actor Harrison Ford plays the role of Rick Deckard. The film has a huge budget of $28000000.
Blade Runner received a mixed reaction from the viewers. Some viewers and the critics became displeased with the pacing of the film while many others loved the complex theme that evolves around the replicants and the Blade Runners. Although the film initially suffered from poor feedback from the viewers later the film emerged as a cult classic. The film is also notable for its depiction of the future through the sets and the story.
